Get excited, Gerard Way fans: his comic Umbrella Academy will land on Netflix as a 10-episode live-action series! Way announced this news on his Facebook page (see the post below). “It’s really happening!” he wrote under the poster of The Umbrella Academy.

The word spread last week, with the official statement reading “The Umbrella Academy will be hitting Netflix”, adding that Gerard Way was “definitely involved in the project.”

According to Deadline, Netflix is giving the The Umbrella Academy series a 10-episode order, and the show is scheduled to come out in 2018.
“I am thrilled that The Umbrella Academy has found a home at Netflix,” Way says (via Deadline). “I couldn’t think of a better place for the vision Gabriel Bá and myself had when creating the comic and cannot wait for people to experience that world as a live-action show.”
