If you haven’t heard of Mallory Knox, an alt-rock band from Cambridge, UK, it’s just about time to get to know them. The band has offered a taste of their upcoming album – an energetic track, titled ‘Better Off Without You,’ whose catchy melody will be dwelling in your head long after you give it a listen.

The song lyrics aren’t as uplifting as the tune though. They talk about the antidepressant Citalopram and about how disappointed the band’s bassist Sam Douglas was with the ignorant attitude and careless approach of his doctor to Douglas’s treatment. “For something so personal, it all felt very impersonal,” the bassist comments.

‘Better Off Without You’ is the third single off the new album, Wired, which is due for release on March 10. The previous two tracks released from the record were ‘Giving It Up’ and ‘Lucky Me.’

Mallory Knox formed in 2009 and their debut album, Signals (2013), crawled to #33 in the UK album charts. It was followed by an even more successful second album, Asymmetry, released in October 2014. The record made it to #16 in UK charts. Let’s see what trophies the new album, Wired, picks. It’s a new chapter in the band’s life as it’s the first album Mallory Knox is releasing on Columbia Records.
