British experimental alt-rockers Muse have been spreading the word that they hope to release their next album in the second half of 2018, which made many fans sad as it’s still a long way to go. Now it’s time to cheer up: Matt Bellamy and co. have promised to release more new songs ahead of the planned album release!
A couple of days ago the Devonshire trio dropped a long-awaited one-off single ‘Dig Down‘, which has a lot of resemblance to the track ‘Madness’ from their 2012′ album The 2nd Law (stream the music video below). Today Muse have unveiled behind-the-scenes footage for the clip, which will leave you wondering where to buy those cool glasses that Matt shows off in the video. Check it out below!
And it appears that Muse have more songs in the style of ‘Dig Down’ waiting to be released. Here is what Muse frontman recently told Radio X:
“The good thing is we’re gonna put out songs like ‘Dig Down’ ahead of the album,” said Bellamy. “We’re going to put out at least another three songs… or even more ahead of the next album coming out.”
In addition, we will have a chance to witness how the musicians are developing those new songs, writing and recording them in the studio and releasing them straight away (via NME):
“People are going to see into the creative process as we’re writing and recording the songs, and we’re going to put them out quite soon after,” adds Bellamy. “Even though the overall album will be a long wait some of the songs are going to be available way ahead of that.”
And in case you’ve missed the band’s fresh interview with Zane Lowe on Beats 1, posed on May 19, check it out and leave your comments below.
This summer Muse are heading to the US and Canada first to be play at a number of summer festivals and then fly to the UK to headline the famous Reading & Leeds Festival on August 25-27. In the meantime, enjoy their new single, ‘Dig Down’:
