System Of A Down have recently confirmed there’s no new music on the horizon (and they haven’t released an album since 2005’s Mezmerize/Hypnotize), which disappointed fans quite a bit. To cheer you, guys, up here is a must-see for you. Famous American actress Tina Fey appeared on Saturday Night Live and gave a performance of System Of A Down’s all-time favorite ‘Chop Suey!’
This past weekend, Fey took on the role of a “cool mom”, Roberta, on Saturday Night Live who accompanies her “daughter” Susan (Melissa Villaseñor) at high school talent show. The good-old-times mom offers her daughter to do a cover of Cyndi Lauper’s ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun,’ but Susan isn’t keen on the idea.
The two then go off stage to discuss what they could perform together. The daughter’s ultimate choice is System Of A Down’s most beloved hit, ‘Chop Suey!’ Susan’s mom eventually gets into the groove, adding some lines to her kid’s epic cover. Watch Fey sing ‘Chop Suey!’ on Saturday Night Live below!
System Of A Down recently shared they’ll do three shows in October with support from At The Drive In. See the list of cities and dates below and head here to get your ticket.
