Fans gave Coldplay a Peruvian instrument, cajon, as a gift, and the band might use it at tonight’s show
April 15, 2016
Today’s tweet by Coldplay went viral and got numerous reposts and comments in Twitter. What was in the tweet? The band’s Peruvian fans gave their idols a traditional Afro-Peruvian percussion instrument, cajon, as a gift, and Coldplay were so impressed by this gesture that they not only posted the picture of the cajon, which you can see below, but also wrote, «Thanks to our wonderful fans, this little friend might be joining us tonight!!»
Tonight, April 15, as well as the following two nights, Coldplay are playing at Foro Sol in Mexico City, Mexico, supported by Lianne La Havas and Ximena Sariñana within A Head Full of Dreams tour. Now, the question is: will the band actually use the cajon onstage tonight? Coldplay fans who are going to tonight’s show, please let us know in the comments below whether «this little friend» has joined the musicians onstage.
After Mexico shows, the band will fly across the ocean for a leg of shows in Western and Northern Europe, including four consecutive shows at London’s Wembley Stadium on June 15-19. The European marathon will wrap up on July 6 in Copenhagen, Denmark, from where Coldplay will head to the US for a row of shows booked all the way into September 3.
