Of Mice & Men have chosen to move forward without their singer Austin Carlile, who recently left the band for health reasons. Many of you wondered if the band was going to continue on their own, and now they are more than just back on. On April 21 the band gave their first live performance without Carlile at Las Rageous festival and now they’ve unveiled a new song and music video, ‘Unbreakable’. Watch the clip below!

The track was produced by the famous Howard Benson and includes both clean singing and powerful growled parts. Here is what the band bassist/lead vocalist Aaron Pauley told about the single:
“We’re incredibly excited for the world to hear our brand new song, ‘Unbreakable,’ which is all about staring fear in the face, overcoming fear’s ability to keep you stagnant and telling it where it stands. Through this transitional time, we’ve felt the tremendous outpouring of love, encouragement and support from our fans around the world and we can’t wait to see you all soon. None of this would be possible without you, and we thank you all, endlessly.”
But if you think the decision to go on without Carlile was a piece of cake for the band, you are wrong. «It’s still not an easy thing to think about the future without him,” Pauley admitted to Rockest Record during the song’s debut. “One of the things that Austin expressed to us was that he really wanted us to keep going. He didn’t really want this to slow anything down as far as playing shows or anything else.»

Being warned about the risk of “permanent and irrevocable damage” to his spinal cord and nervous system, Carlile recently decided to leave Of Mice & Men in order concentrate on battling Marfan Syndrome. The singer has started a new spinal treatment and «will be overcoming and recovering from this», according to his latest health update.

Of Mice & Men are now a four-piece: Aaron Pauley, Alan Ashby, Phil Manansala and Valentino Arteaga. As for Carlile, he promises he won’t stop writing music one way or another.
