Brendon Urie has also revealed they’ve started working on the new album
January 2, 2017
Last year we saw Panic! At The Disco open 2016 with their New Year’s Eve performance on NBC, as Urie rocked the night to their anthem-like hit ‘Victorious’ (do you remember?). As their album Death of a Bachelor proved wildly successful, Urie and Co appeared live in countless TV shows throughout the year.
That’s why in the doorstep of this year Panic! most probably had quite a few offers to choose from, including the chance to fire up Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve. This time it wasn’t just one song: in addition to the festive fans’ favorite ‘Victorious’, Panic’s setlist included ‘Death of a Bachelor’ and ‘I Write Sins Not Tragedies. Check out the live footage below:
The past year couldn’t have been more fruitful for Panic! guys: from skyrocketing to Billboard’s #1 spot with the new album to touring all year round to a recently announced Grammy nomination, the band couldn’t have wished for more.
But that’s not all there is! In an interview with Billboard, Urie unveiled the news that the band are already preparing the material for the follow-up to Death Of A Bachelor. Urie revealed:
»Whether I’m writing a lyric or making a beat, every day I’m doing something. I never really stopped working, so I’m curious to do the sort of Frankenstein method now and see if I can pull all of these things to kind of jigsaw puzzle this [next] album. I’m just going to keep writing until that happens — it seems like it’s going really well right now. There’s a few ideas I’m really excited to keep working on.»
Plus, Urie has some not music-related projects in mind for 2017. He says:
»I’m excited, outside of touring as Panic, [to see] what other kind of trouble I can get into. What other kinds of non-music things I can jump into. We’ll see how dangerous I get.»
