Canadian punk-rock leaders Simple Plan have released new song ‘Opinion Overload’, featured on their forthcoming album, titled Taking One For The Team. The fifth LP is due out February 19 via Atlantic and can already be pre-ordered on their website. The new track dropped together with the music video for it, which you can watch below.

Here is the message the band posted together with the release of ‘Opinion Overload’:

“We are so excited to share with all of you the video for ‘Opinion Overload,’ the opening song of our new album Taking One For The Team. ‘Opinion Overload’ is a song about following your heart and not letting anyone tell you that you can’t. For us, writing it was about getting back to our roots and reminding ourselves and everyone else what this band is all about,” says Simple Plan on their website. “We wanted to make a video that strips everything bare and lays it all on the table; go back to the basics and focus on what we love the most: playing shows for you. The video is a walk down memory lane for the five of us, right back to when we started this band and played small, sweaty clubs every night.»

«Of course, a lot has changed since those days, but in some crazy way, it’s almost as if nothing’s changed at all. It’s still about the power of a song, the magic of stepping on stage and playing your heart out for anyone that cares to listen. This video is our thank you to everyone who ever supported our band — you’re the reason we’re still here doing this.»

Last summer the band unveiled the first two songs off their upcoming album: an easy-listen track ‘Saturday’ premiered last July, and ‘Boom’ dropped in August, together with a music video, containing footage from the 2015 Vans Warped Tour, The Alternative Press Music Awards, and a Montreal performance at New City Gas. In September 2015, Simple Plan shared the third song, ‘I Don’t Wanna Be Sad,’ and the fourth one, ‘I Don’t Wanna Go to Bed,’ featuring rapper Nelly, followed in October.

Simple Plan guys will soon embark on a world tour to support the new record, Taking One For The Team, starting with shows in Europe. The tour will kick off in Madrid on February 24.
