On the new record, the band is trying to find «the peace in the midst of all the contradiction and loss»

Von Hertzen Brothers have just announced the release of their eighth album, their first new music since LP War Is Over, launched in 2017. The band has been especially productive over the last couple of years and recorded a double album, titled Red Alert in the Blue Forest. The new record is due out March 16 via our own record label, Doing Being Music.

Red Alert in the Blue Forest is sort of a 2-in-1 album, just like the Finnish rockers originally intended it. «From the beginning, the record was thought of as a double album, since it contains approx. 70 minutes of new music», the band wrote on Facebook.

Like previous VHB records, this one came out profoundly philosophical in nature. While writing the album, the three brothers were obviously contemplating the changed situation in the world and asked themselves how to find «the peace in the midst of all the contradiction and loss». And the result surpassed their own expectations:

«We’ve even surprised ourselves with this record. It’s like a joint art exhibition of three artists. where the stories of most of the works are located in the imaginary landscape of our mind, the Blue Forest.»

Taking into account COVID-19-related restrictions popping up out of the blue and varying from country to country, Von Hertzen Brothers have also posted the Finnish dates of their tour in support of the album. The home tour leg starts March 26, 2022, and depending on how the global situation is next spring, the musicians are «hoping to announce more live dates in Europe in early 2022».

Album pre-sales and tickets will go on sale at 10:00 a.m. (UTC+2)/ 8:00 a.m. (UTC) on December 15. In addititon, the band has teased that they’ve been working on «an epic video» for the first single from the upcoming record, so keep an eye on the band’s incoming news.
