LAMB OF GOD have shared a topical music video ‘Overlord’ about being ignorant to the world around us, a fruit of Randy Blythe’s imagination
June 30, 2015
If you think you’ve been waiting for new material from Lamb of God, it was definitely worth waiting. The band is back with a new track ‘Overlord’, which as Loudwire predicts, has all the chances to become “one of the top videos of the year.”
The script of the video was written by Lamb Of God vocalist Randy Blythe and revolves around a couple too preoccupied with their own lives to pay attention to what’s going on in the world around them. The main characters walk down the streets of the city staring at their phones, ignorant to the violence, crime and other evil around them. The two get back to reality only when they accidentally bump into each other, which leads to their fighting.
Randy Blythe told Loudwire, “Just like the couple in the video, many people can’t seem to look past their own relatively small problems to see the bigger picture: the world is in serious trouble. Having a bad day at work, or a fight with your significant other, or getting a crappy haircut or table service does not in any way shape or form constitute an emergency. Sometimes things just don’t work out the way we want them to — deal with it. People who only see their own problems eventually wind up alone because no one wants to hear their crap anymore.”
Lamb of God will release VII: Sturm und Drang on July 24. Meanwhile, enjoy their new music video below, leave us your comments, and stay tuned with Alterock Facebook and Twitter to never miss out on the news about your favorite alternative music!
