The ska punk masters from Florida have shared a piece of their new album, Sound The Alarm
January 6, 2017
The band’s new studio record, titled Sound The Alarm, is due out February 3 through Pure Noise Records, and we can now enjoy its first single, ‘Things Change’ (heat it below).
The track is so catchy and melodic that it sets a high bar for the entire forthcoming album. Time will show if all tracks from Sound The Alarm live up to fans’ expectations, but the first single from it surely does.
As for the creative process preceding the new album, Less That Jake’s drummer Vinnie Friorello said:
“We started writing this set of songs, similar to our last record See The Light, sitting around a table in our warehouse with some acoustic guitars, lyrics scribbled on scraps of paper, and a constant barrage of ideas.
Trying ideas as they would come out, sometimes chasing the idea, or getting connected or not connected to an idea right away. We had been writing and were planning on fleshing out the ideas while on Warped Tour.”
Sound The Alarm was recorded and produced by the band’s very own Roger Lima (bass guitar) and mixed at the renowned punk recording studio, The Blasting Room, in Fort Collins, Colorado. The five-piece finished work on the LP soon after their Vans Warped Tour run last summer.
Less Than Jake are about to hit the road later this month with Pepper, and will also rock on the Slam Dunk Festival this May. See the list of their tour dates below.
