The 2018 Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame induction ceremony will be held April 14 in Cleveland

As Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame’s annual induction ceremony is nearing, the fan-voted winners have been announced today, and they are something to behold. Bon Jovi surpassed their “rivals” and picked an impressive 1,162,146 votes, closely followed by Moody Blues with 947,795 votes. The next in the rating are Dire Straits with 613,749 votes, The Cars with 552,733 votes and Judas Priest with 538,508 votes.
The initial list of nominees for the 2018 was posted in October, and now it was up to music fans to propel their idols to the pedestal of Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. So? Does it mean that Bon Jovi will get to be inducted in a year or two? Not necessarily but very likely! As Blabbermouth points out, according to the Hall’s rules, the five top fan-voted artists are put on a single ballot, which “counts no more than a ballot submitted by one of the Hall’s 900 or so regular voters, consisting of artists, music historians and music industry insiders”.
However, throughout the years it has shown that the most voted act ends up being inducted into the Hall sooner or later. This was previously the cash with such bands as Rush, KISS, Journey and many others. To put it short, Bon Jovi have quite a big chance of being inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame thanks to their active, loyal army of fans.
By the rules of the Hall Of Fame, only those artists are eligible for the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame whose first album or single was released at least 25 years ago by the time of the nomination.
The inductees for the Class Of 2018 will be announced on December 13. The 2018 induction ceremony will take place on April 14 in Cleveland, Ohio, and will air on HBO. Check out the full list of nominees below.
Interestingly, Radiohead were only ranked 12 out of 19 in the fan voting, and it’s ironic taking into account they’ve recently announced that they won’t come to the induction ceremony…
