DAVE GROHL has revealed he has got ‘a little bit of social anxiety’ about attending the upcoming Emmy Awards ceremony, where his band is nominated four times

August 20, 2015

In a recent interview with GoldDerby, Dave Grohl unveiled that he has social anxiety whenever he’s in certain new situations. And it’s certainly new for Grohl to be an Emmy nominee, let alone be a candidate for four Emmys at once! The Emmy critics have expressed their high evaluation of the HBO series Foo Fighters: Sonic Highways. Foo frontman is also nominated for his outstanding directing job.

For a musician, and not a film star, Grohl, all this appreciation is overwhelming. “It’s just going to be such a crazy night, I just can’t imagine,” he admitted in the interview. “I think I’ll feel like that kid who is the new kid at school, the first day at school. I’ll probably just sit down, with my back up against the wall, just nervous, and waiting to see who is going to want to talk to me. I have a little bit of social anxiety. It might seem hard to imagine, but in rooms like that, I kind of clam up.”

Not only is the extremely positive feedback on Sonic Highways series received from the Emmy commitee and Foo fans, but even from the legendary music stars. During his recent dinner with Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr, Grohl heard to his great surprise that Ringo Starr enjoyed their TV series, especially the Washington D.C. episode. So even if Foo Fighters do not receive the awards in any of those nominations, the band can already feel like the biggest rock stars ever, as The Beatles themselves gave them two thumbs up.
