The Blood Album is now AFI’s biggest success since 2006′ Decemberunderground
January 30, 2017
AFI recently told German website Laut that, quote, “the fire of the band is still burning, in each one of us.” Now it’s obvious this fire in the band is bigger than ever. The four friends can open champagne today as for the fourth time in AFI’s history, their album has debuted in the top ten of the Billboard 200 and landed at #5!

AFI (The Blood Album) is the band’s tenth studio effort, released on January 20, and it’s now close to repeating the success of the band’s world-breakthrough album Decemberunderground, which came out in in 2006 and immediately reached #1 spot on Billboard.
And now that’s you’ve all got AFI’s latest LP, you should also take a look at the band’s fresh music video for ‘Aurelia’, the third video for a single from The Blood Album (watch below). ‘Aurelia’ offers an extremely close-up focusing on the band members’ eyes, lips and other facial parts – a mesmerizing yet a bit disturbing view.
The previous two clips were launched for singles ‘Snow Cats” and ‘White Offerings’, with one picking up where the other one left off. Guitarist Jade Puget unveiled to Laut website that when it came to choosing singles for The Blood Album, it was a really difficult selection:
”Actually, we could have chosen every song. The special thing about this album is that it sounds coherent and homogenous, but each song somehow stands completely for itself. I mean there’s actually no typical single on the album.”
