DAVE GROHL designed himself a throne to play for the first time since breaking his leg – Twitter goes crazy
July 5, 2015
You are probably thinking, “Is there anything else Dave Grohl could do to be praised as a rock hero #1?”, yet there is another awesome thing he did recently. A short time ago he broke his leg in the middle of a gig in Sweden last month, but it’s Dave Grohl we are talking about, the guy who never gives up, and he has managed to get back on stage in record time.
On Saturday night Foo Fighters frontman played with a show his band in Washington DC, marking their 20th anniversary concert, even though his broken leg is still fixed with a cast. Grohl was rocking from a motorised Game Of Thrones-style throne of his own design, proving there is nothing that could stop him from coming out to perform for his fans. The rocker also admitted he was ‘high as a kite’ on pain medication during the show. ‘I said I’m not missing this show for the world,’ he insisted. ‘You build me that picture and we’ll play Washington DC.’
“How many of you saw that on YouTube?’ Grohl asked the crowd, refering to the incident, as the video of the moment he broke his leg was playing in the background, writes Metro. After the show Twitter exploded with Foo Fighters fans posting how amazed they were to see Dave bring the house down, all from his throne and unable to stand on his feet.
Earlier Foo Fighters were forced to cancel their UK shows and the performance at Glastonbury, but it’s obvious that from now Dave will do anything in order to be able not to let his fans down, even though the medication makes him ‘high as a kite’.
