Frontman Chino Moreno will play a special acoustic concert inside an Icelandic volcano
June 16, 2016
This Saturday, June 18, Deftones are performing at Iceland’s Secret Solstice Festival as headliners but there is a special acoustic show taking place before the festival – Deftones’ singer Chino Moreno will perform inside Icelandic volcano Thrihnuagigur.
Moreover, the show is a historic event, as no artist has ever publicly performed inside a volcano before. The audience is limited to 20 people only, but those 20 fans will never forget what they’ve experienced at the show, because they will be seated 400 feet lower, in the magma chamber of the volcano.

Now, some of you might be worried about the safery of the Deftones’ singer and the audience: what if the volcano suddenly erupts and kills everyone? Well, that is not even remotely probable: the volcano’s last eruption happened more than 4,000 years ago.
Deftones are currently wrapping up their headlining European tour and will hit a range of summer festivals afterwards. The band are supporting their eighth album, Gore, which came out April 8.
