The video for ‘Technology’ ridicules our addiction to phones and social media
July 26, 2017
Oh my! UK talents Don Broco come up with one extraordinary clip after another, never ceasing to surprise us. This time they have resorted to an alien theme in their music video for ‘Technology’, drawing our attention to the fact we are so addicted to our phones, we can barely notice an alien abduction, a kidnapper or a robbery happening in front of our eyes or even to us. Watch the ironic video below!
“We’re all addicted to our phones, so for the video we thought it would be fun to see if an alien invasion was enough for us to put the phones down for a minute… turns out it’s not,” comments frontman Rob Damiani.
Does it mean the singer is like that himself or is surrounded by people obsessed with social media? “The song is about a casual swipe through Instagram that ended up in me unfollowing a load of mates. In reality my friends are not vain, self-obsessed, PDA-loving show-offs so I’m blaming social media and the habitual nature of sharing every waking moment of your life online.”
But for those who really can’t get away from technology and crave for more, the band has offered a space-themed video game through their website, along with IOS and Android app stores. In the game, you can choose who of the band members you’d like to play for: Don Broco’s Rob Damiani (vocals), Matt Donnelly (drums), Simon Delaney (guitar) or Tom Doyle (bass). The concept is to fight your way out of Alexandra Palace and into the streets of London, getting rid of the aliens invading the streets. The game isn’t available yet, so have a little patience.
