Jonathan Davis’s upcoming album has been in the works for almost 10 years
December 28, 2017
Now that’s what we call a Christmas present! Jonathan Davis, the singer of Korn, took to Facebook Live on Christmas Eve to reveal that he indeed will release a solo album next year! Having confirmed this awesome news, he also told fans that the release of the solo record will be accompanied by a solo tour in 2018.
The material for Davis’s solo album were not build in a day: all in all, he’s been working on the record for nearly a decade now. “I’m finishing my record finally” Davis says during his livestream. “I started it in 2008, so I guess it’ll be 10 years of work.” Originally, these songs were intended for his solo band Jonathan Davis And The Simply Fucking Amazings, but his solo band didn’t exist long, plus Korn’s guitarist Shane Gibson died in 2014. Now, after a long while, Davis decided to release the album under his own name.
In addition, Davis told Facebook Live that he’s already shot music videos for a couple of songs from the upcoming album:
“I’m really excited. I’ve been working on these songs for 10 years, and it’s turned out amazing,” he comments on Facebook. “So there’ll be a record coming out next year. I just shot videos yesterday for a couple of songs, and the tour will be next year.”
To other Davis’s news, the singer is also launching his own clothing company, Somber One, and offering pre-orders for the first 5,000 special Collectors Edition Shirts/Hoodies (via Alternative Press). As a bonus to the pre-order, fans will also receive a signed card from Davis himself, and current pre-orders will also be the ground for Korn frontman to start work on the Spring 2018 collection.
