Nine Inch Nails God Break Down The Door

The new Nine Inch Nails song from the upcoming album takes us back to Bowie’s 1995′ mood

May 17, 2018

Nine Inch Nails are these quiet guys whose frontman and orchestra-man Trent Reznor keeps working on various fronts until we almost forget he’s still the part of the iconic industrial metal band. It seems so distant now but NIN were a huge influence in early 2000s and had probably the most loyal army of fans. And just when we are ready to wipe them off the shelf of our current music choices, here they go again!

That is to say, Nine Inch Nails are back on, fully working on their upcoming release, titled Bad Witch, out June 22. And with the new album there are, of course, new singles popping up. NIN have just shared a new track, ‘God Break Down The Door’, featured on Bad Witch.

Fans have immediately drawn the parallel between the new song and David Bowie’s music, particularly the work ‘I’m Deranged’ from the 1995′ album Outsider. Give both tracks a listen below and compare them!

On ‘God Break Down The Door’ the band is obviously exploring other music genres, from techno to even the sounds of saxophone. Well, Reznor obviously listens to so much various music working on Apple Music streaming services that he dares to experiment with all sorts of techniques.

Does it point at the band’s new music direction? Let’s wait for the album and see. Anyhow, the upcoming album, Bad Witch, reportedly completes the NIN trilogy of records, the first one being 2016’s Not The Actual Events and the second one – Add Violence.

NIN will be doing the Cold And Black And Infinite North America 2018 tour with the support from Jesus And Mary Chain. As Alternative Press informs, in order to prevent resellers from getting tickets, the band will be selling them only at box offices of each tour venue during presale events (see NIN tour dates and locations below). The sale policy is first come, first serve, and tickets can be bought in person only. See the band’s site for details.
