Trent Reznor calls it a “an unfriendly, fairly impenetrable record”, long enough “to tell that story”
December 19, 2016
Just a couple of days ago Trent Reznor was teasing fans by tweeting “New NIN coming in 2016. Other stuff, too.” Now we finally know what new stuff is coming and when. The band’s new EP, titled Not The Actual Events, will be released on December 23, just in time to make yourself or your friend a musical Christmas gift.
According to Reznor, the new 5-track EP will sound very different from the tracks he has released this year. “It’s an unfriendly, fairly impenetrable record that we needed to make,” says Reznor. “It’s an EP because that ended up being the proper length to tell that story.”
While most fans are enthusiastic about hearing Not The Actual Events, some tend to think NIN just couldn’t kept the promise to come up with new music in 2016, so they’ve simply dug out some previously unreleased stuff and be-sides and packed them into an EP not to disappoint their fans.
Another NIN news is that The Fragile is going to appear on vinyl as a limited edition. The record will feature 37 instrumental and previously unreleased tracks. The original record was out in 1999, bringing the band a huge success and #1 spot on the Billboard 200. The band will also re-releasing Broken and The Downward Spiral on vinyl.
