Slipknot didn’t foresee any possibility of a problem during their show in Hartford, Conn. last night, August 2, when their new bassist Alessandro “Alex” Venturella suddenly felt bad and had to be taken to the hospital straight away. As Loudwire reports, this “undisclosed medical emergency” made the band stop the show in the middle of the live set. Despite the emergency, 20 minutes later Slipknot returned to the audience and performed 10 more songs with the rest of the guys.
When the band came back on stage, vocalist Corey Taylor told the crowd, “I’m gonna let you know what’s going on right now. I’m sorry to say that our bass player, Alex, had… Something happened. I’m not sure what happened. He’s been put into an ambulance and he’s going to the hospital right now as we speak. But I want you all to make f—ing noise for him. Send him some f—ing love. Now, we had a choice to come back out here. We’ve had to modify some s–t, but we’re gonna keep on playing for you. It’s what we want, it’s what Alex would f—ing want.” After these words of the frontman the fans chanted Alex’s name repeatedly. Watch the video below.
