This marks first new music from The Pretty Reckless since their 2021′ album Death By Rock And Roll

The multiplatinum New York rockers have opened a new chapter in their music. Taylor Momsen-fronted The Pretty Reckless have just released a brand new single, titled ‘For I Am Death’. From Ben Phillips’ crunchy guitar riffs to emotional, raspy vocals by Taylor Momsen, ‘For I Am Death’ serves its mission of immersing the listener into a dark sinister world, where Momsen is embodying the figure of death.

Introducing the song, the vocalist said:

“With For I Am Death, I want the music to speak for itself, allowing the listener to decide what it means to them. The interpretation of the song might align with my own, or it might come from the heart of the audience. Either way, I’m excited to see what people take away from it and what it means to them. Oh, and rock and roll will never die.”

The music video for ‘For I Am Death’ was directed by Lewis Cater. It kicks off with a short ballad ‘Life Evermore Pt.2’, preparing the viewers for a somber path, rhythmic guitars and Momsen’s haunting vocals.

The Pretty Reckless’ latest record to date was their fourth album Death By Rock And Roll. The band also released a compilation of acoustic tracks and covers titled Other Worlds. Now that the new single is out, fans can await more new music from Momsen & co. in the coming months. Earlier this year, the guys had booked an eight-month studio block to record more music for the next LP. In a SiriusXM interview, they mentioned that a large part of the fifth album had already been written, but they had to pause production not to miss out on an opportunity to tour with AC/DC.

The group are expected to continue studio work this September, with producer Jonathan Wyman joining them in the studio again. Following the album release, the band is hoping to gear up for a massive world tour to introduce their new material live.
