The band has also announced joining forces with record label Better Noise Music

One of Finland’s top rock bands throughout the past two decades, The Rasmus, have scared their fans a lot by posting a laconic note “The Rasmus R.I.P. October 25” on social media. “I hope it’s the name of a new single or something like that,” wrote one fan on Instagram. “I highly doubt the title is literal and that the band is going to break up or dissolve.” Now the veil of mystery has been lifted: ‘R.I.P.’ doesn’t stand for ‘Rest In Peace’ but a much less worrying ‘Rest In Pieces’. The title belongs to the band’s new single, out this Friday, October 25.

The anthemic, symphonic snippet of the song, shared across social media, sounds The Rasmus 2.0, which is not a coincidence. The band’s new sound goes hand in hand with inking a deal with a well-known independent record label Better Noise Music. Besides, ‘Rest In Pieces’ is a joint release with the band’s longtime partner Playground Music.

“Better Noise Music have been watching and waiting in the shadows for an opportunity to work with The Rasmus and Antti Eriksson of Backbone Management and Lars Tengroth of Playground,” says Dan Waite, CEO of Better Noise Music.

“We are very excited to work with Better Noise Music, I can’t think of a better international home for The Rasmus,” admits Lars Tengroth, The Rasmus’ A&R at Playground Music. “The band’s new material is harder and darker and fits the label perfectly.”

The band has also been “waiting in the shadows” in terms of being low-key live recently. The waiting is almost over. The Rasmus have locked a whole world tour, with the show across Europe now announced. The European tour leg is titled ‘Weirdo’ and will stretch out from September 12 to December 6, 2025.

“It’s been a while since we went on tour, so we’re really excited to be heading out all over the world in 2025,” says vocalist Lauri Ylönen. “It’s shaping up to be a massive tour and there’s more dates to come. We can’t wait to hang out with our fans. It’s going to be fun to see them again, we’re like family.”
