“They’re gonna lock me in the closet, but I’m coming out”, sings YUNGBLUD in the new in-your-face track
The anticipation is over. After two weeks of catchy teasers and video sneak peeks, YUNGBLUD has released the new song and music video ‘Strawberry Lipstick’.
‘Strawberry Lipstick’ is featured on the singer’s upcoming second LP that is due out later this year. It’s release YUNGBLUD’s first album since his debut full-length 21st Century Liability, released in 2018. In between the two, the musician underrated an EP, The Underrated Youth.
The new track, ‘Strawberry Lipstick’, is co-produced by YUNGBLUD himself and his longtime friends Chris Greatti (Poppy, Grimes) and Zakk Cervini (Bishop Briggs, Machine Gun Kelly). The video features L.A.-based singer/songwriter Jesse Jo Stark. ‘Strawberry Lipstick’ can be streamed here and the video is available below:
YUNGBLUD’s previous single, ‘Weird!’, arrived back in April. Then, obvisouly, all musicians’ plans were crumpled by the coronavirus-caused lockdown, and we didn’t hear much in terms of new music from YUNGBLUD. But on July 1 the musician posted a tweet telling fans not to miss an announcement on July 7. He added emojis with lipstick, strawberry and hearts there. Now we know why.
Last week the new single ‘Strawberry Lipstick’ came out, and on Thursday YUNGBLUD launched its official video. As usual with YUNGBLUD, the lyrics and visuals for the song are uncompromising and teasing at the same time. Check out the lyrics below.
