Apocalyptica are coming back to the U.S. this April with support from 10 Years and Failure Anthem

Finnish metal cello maestros Apocalyptica are returning to the U.S. in April to support their eighth album Shadowmaker, released last April. The opening acts for Apocalyptica will be Tennessee band 10 Years and Failure Anthem from Greensboro, N.C. Apocalyptica admitted they are excited to come back to perform for U.S. audience: “It’s really exciting for us to return to the U.S. for another headline tour and we can’t wait to present a lot of new material from album Shadowmaker.” Check out the band’s U.S. tour dates below.

Apocalyptica have a big date coming up: the 20th anniversary of their debut album, Plays Metallica by Four Cellos. Launched on Sep 30, 1996, the record was a massive breakthrough for the band, which made Apocalyptica one of the loudest names on the metal scene. No wonder the band is taking the upcoming celebration very seriously. Finnish celloists are preparing a very special cruise on board of The Baltic Princess, heading from Finnish city of Turku to Sweden’s capital Stockholm on Jun 9, where the musicians will play two shows, one in their classical metal sound and one unplugged.
The cruise night will be full of Apocalyptica-related games and activities including a contest with a grand prize of a meet and greet with the band members. See the full cruise program below and watch the self-made video announcement from the Scandinavian celloists right here:
To other Apocalyptica’s news, two weeks ago, Eicca Toppinen and Perttu Kivilaakso launched their own opera on the stage of the Finnish National Opera. Apocalyptica’s opera, titled ‘Indigo’, premiered on Helsinki stage on Jan 22.
