When musicians don’t give birth to a new album in eight years, it’s most often time to write them off and move on. Luckily, there are one-of-a-kind exceptions, one of them being Pennsylvanian Balance and Composure. Their army of fans surely had to practice composure and patience with such an enormous gap between the records. And may we say, the waiting was worth it. The band’s track ‘Believe the Hype’, giving us a taste of the upcoming album, does give us the hype we’ve been craving.
‘Believe the Hype’ is featured on the band’s long-awaited new album With You In Spirit, arriving October 4 via producer Will Yip’s label Memory Music. Talking about the new single, Yip said: “’Believe the Hype’ is an anthemic rock banger that would sit nicely next to the Separation / The Things We Think We’re Missing era.”
The song lyrics are cutting deep, as its hero “wrestles with preemptive grief, faith, familial responsibility, and mortality,” the press release echoes. ‘Believe the Hype’ is accompanied by a black-and-white video by Drew Horen – give it a glance below:
