Brit Award winners in the category British Breakthrough Act, Catfish And The Bottlemen have just shared a new music video for their single ‘Soundcheck.’ It’s the first song released off the band’s upcoming record The Ride, which is due out May 27 via Island Records. Check out the black and white performance video for ‘Soundcheck’:

Catfish and the Bottlemen are an indie rock act formed in Llandudno, North Wales in 2007. The Ride is the band’s sophomore full-fledged album, following 2014’s effort The Balcony, which was certified gold and made it to top 10 in the UK album chart. The day after The Balcony was released in the US, the group performed on the Late Show with David Letterman. Catfish And The Bottlemen also won the BBC Introducing Award at the first BBC Music Awards in December 2014. The band’s sound is compared to that of Johnny Marr, The Cribs, Feeder and Mystery Jets.

The band is touring the US this June with a headlining tour, including Firefly and Governor’s Ball shows. They will also be the headliners of the Truck Festival in Oxfordshire in July, which is their first headline slot at a festival.

In the official message to fans on their Facebook page the band talks about coming up with the concept of The Ride album:

“We started recording this album at any chance we could get, in between shows over the summer. And, after the final night on ‘The Balcony’ tour finished we were set to have some time off but couldn’t wait and didn’t think yous should have to either after the run you gave us. So, went straight in to finish the 2nd Album. We made it out in Los Angeles with a producer and hero of ours that we’ve dreamt of working since we were kids… D. SARDY…. the game-changer! This man made the songs and the albums we grew up listening to. The ones that made us want to sound like the band we are, so to go in and actually record our album together with him was a real honour and the best craic we’ve had!”
