Crownshift’s upcoming debut album due in the first half of 2024 via Nuclear Blast
It’s about time for a new supergroup. When you hear who the new Finnish band Crownshift consists of, you can’t help but think: how could it possibly not be a powerhouse? The newly born group features the members of Nightwish, Children of Bodom, Wintersun and Finntroll. Today, the ambitious quartet has released its first single, titled ‘If You Dare’.
The debut single is the first piece of Crownshift’s upcoming album, expected to arrive in the first half of 2024 via Nuclear Blast, according to Blabbermouth. ‘If You Dare’ is smartly composed in the best traditions of Finnish modern metal and melodic death metal. Its punchy guitars and undeniable stage presence serve as proof that the new band is definitely here to stay.

The signature sound of Crownshift is crafted by the following four masterminds: Tommy Tuovinen (myGRAIN) on vocals, Daniel Freyberg (ex-Children Of Bodom) doing guitar and additional vocal parts, Jukka Koskinen (Nightwish) on bass and Heikki Saari (Finntroll, Wintersun) at a drum set.

Nuclear Blast Records don’t dare call the band a supergroup yet underline the chemistry in the lineup. “We wouldn’t call it an all-star band but it’s a five-star result of their collective experience from various bands. And sometimes it takes a while until the right musicians are coming together and find the perfect chemistry. Jukka, Heikki and Daniel already played together in the last NORTHER lineup until 2012. Since then, they went different ways but always crossed each other’s paths, and finally came back together as CROWNSHIFT with the addition of the amazing vocal talent of Tommy Tuovinen from MYGRAIN”.
