The album is coming out three weeks before the film’s official release

This summer has just got hotter. Nine Inch Nails have announced the upcoming release of their new album. The LP is the soundtrack for the movie ‘Tron: Ares’. It will hit the digital stores on September 19, three weeks before the film’s release, scheduled for October 10.

The new album announcement hasn’t arrived alone. NIN fans are also getting the first taste of it in the first album single, ‘As Alive as You Need Me to Be’. ‘Tron: Ares’ is the third movie of ‘Tron’ franchise boasting an impressive 24 songs on the album – some instrumental and some vocal tracks, all by Nine Inch Nails. The film shows a clash of mankind and AI creatures, and Ares, played by Jared Leto, is a sophisticated program that’s out on a mission in the real world.

The upcoming record is the first full-fledged Nine Inch Nails’ album since Ghosts V: Together and Ghosts VI: Locusts, both of which came out in 2020. Tron: Ares is also a massive achievement for Trent Reznor-fronted band, as it’s the first time a feature film soundtrack is going to be released under the name of Nine Inch Nails.

Last month NIN started their 2025′ tour in Dublin. In August, the band is embarking on the North American tour leg of Peel It Back World Tour. The tour run will for 6 weeks and finish with two nights at Los Angeles’ Kia Forum.
