It looks like Set It Off are enjoying releasing a new surprise song every month
All Christmas and New Year’s Day surprises now seem to be over… But Set It Off like surprising their fans before and after the holiday period. Following a surprise song in December, the band has just unveiled another release, titled ‘So Predictable’. Well, the predictability isn’t about Set It Off’s manner to drop new music for sure!
Last month, when all Midnight album tracks had already been listened to countless times, Set It Off unexpectedly shared a new track ‘Catch Me If You Can’. Now again, the band started teasing new music coming on social media, and after Both Cody Carson and Maxx Danziger’s posts ‘So Predictable’ got its surprise release today. Give it a listen below.
Both new tracks will reportedly land on the band’s next release titled After Midnight, which is thought to be either a collection of B-sides or a Deluxe edition of their latest album Midnight, suggests Alternative Press.
What is ‘So Predictable’ about? Very simple. About repetitive fights, problems, conversations with people we’d rather not see and the irritation, accompanying us in these moments. The band says:
“We’ve all been there before — same argument, same issue, same nonsense, different day,” Carson says about the song. “This is one of those songs written out of complete frustration of those kinds of moments — whether it be someone you love who you butt heads with or someone so irritating yet you can’t avoid them. We had a blast making this song because of the overall attitude that surrounds it.”

“So Predictable” Lyrics:
You told me once, you told me twice
I know
I’ve seen this film too many times
So old, yeah
Cause I don’t really need a crystal ball to see
That you’ll spin the broken record til’ it get to me
Play away, I’m gonna hear it til’ the day I die
I know you (I know you)
I know you
So predictable
I’ve heard this song before
Don’t act like you are not (So predictable)
You’re playing on a loop
Repeat, repeat, rewind (So predictable)
Again and again til’ it’s stuck in my head
It’s attaching to my brain
So predictable
I’ve heard this song before
Don’t act like you are not
So predictable
No, it don’t matter how you flip that coin, nah, nah
With double sides, it’s always heads, no choice
Cause I don’t really need a crystal ball to see
That you’ll spin the broken record til’ it get to me
Play away, I’m gonna hear it til’ the day I die
I know you (I know you)
Yeah, I know you
So predictable
I’ve heard this song before
Don’t act like you are not (So predictable)
You’re playing on a loop
Repeat, repeat, rewind (So predictable)
Again and again til’ it’s stuck in my head
It’s attaching to my brain
So predictable
I’ve heard this song before
Don’t act like you are not
So predictable
(So predictable)
(So predictable)
From sunrise to sunset
From death end to taxes
And how they remind me of you
The day comes and goes
Some things we’ll never know
But the monster of habit is you
(So predictable)
I’ve heard this song before
Don’t act like you are not
So predictable
You’re playing on a loop
Repeat, repeat, rewind
So predictable
Again and again til’ it’s stuck in my head
It’s attaching to my brain
So predictable
I’ve heard this song before
Don’t act like you are not
So predictable
(Again and again and again and again and again and again)
(So predictable)
(Again and again and again and again and again and again)
(So predictable)
The track ‘So Predictable’ lyrically picks up from the message of ‘Catch Me If You Can’, the previous surprise release.
“‘Catch Me If You Can’ is that quintessential middle finger to anyone who doubted you or really wronged you in life or in your pursuit of your dreams,” says singer Cody Carson.
“I’ve personally and unfortunately experienced an incredible amount of this on our journey. I’ve been laughed at when I told people what I do for a living, I’ve been betrayed by my closest friends, and I’ve been told no time and time again. To me, that’s fuel, it’s motivation to show that this path is something that I was born to do. Success is the best revenge.”
