Corey Taylor had an unplanned spinal surgery as he had broken his neck a while back

June 6, 2016

As you’ve probably heard by now, a few days ago Slipknot were bound to put off their upcoming tour with Marilyn Manson and Of Mice & Men due to frontman Corey Taylor’s spinal surgery. The information surfaced only now that Taylor had to go under the knife because he had broken his back.

Interestingly, the singer didn’t even realize it until things got worse. As Taylor’s tweets read, he “had to have disc replaced & work on vertebrae”. Check out the tweets below.

There had also been a lot of fan speculation in social media as to whether the frontman’s recent decision to quit smoking was linked to the surgery, so Slipknot singer took to Twitter to stop this confusion: “Enough [with] the conspiracy theories. I quit smoking [because] I wanted to. I had emergency surgery [because] s–t came up during my physical. Calm. Down.”

Fans who purchased the tickets for Slipknot + Marilyn Manson shows taking place in between June 9-26 don’t need to worry though, as the planned tour dates will be rescheduled in August. The co-headlining tour, opened by Of Mice & Men, will resume on June 28 in Nashville, Tenn.
