The new track sees YUNGBLUD “telling the sadness to fuck off”
Omnipresent, ever-active YUNGBLUD has released a new single from his upcoming self-titled album. The megapositive track is titled ‘Don’t Feel Like Feeling Sad Today’, and the accompanying music video is just as happy as the track itself. The English musician’s new record comes out September 2 via LOCOMOTION/Geffen Records.
The music video for the ‘Don’t Feel Like Feeling Sad Today’ opens with YUNGBLUD saying (possibly during one of his shows):
“Oh I f–ing love this shit, mate
This is what I live for”

The joyous video shows the footage of YUNGBLUD’s recent impromptu set on the back of a truck in London’s Southbank. That day the crowd was having so much fun, with moshing and water fights, that reportedly the show had to be stopped by the police due to overcrowding, reports Rolling Stone.
YUNGBLUD wanted the song to transmit the feeling of what happiness feels like. Introducing ‘Don’t Feel Like Feeling Sad Today’, he wrote in the press release:
“I wrote this song on a morning when I didn’t even want to get out of bed. I sat and looked at the ceiling, head full of so much shit, reading what the internet was saying about me that day, and I just didn’t feel like feeling sad,” he explained.
“I wrote these words to help me stand up. To me, this song is what happiness feels like. Happiness with a bite. A defiant sort of happiness,” YUNGBLUD says. “Looking at yourself in the mirror and telling the sadness to fuck off and come back another day. I wanted this song to be a little part of someone’s day. No matter what they’re going through, they can put this on and feel a bit stronger today.”
‘Don’t Feel Like Feeling Sad Today’ is the third single YUNGBLUD has launched from his upcoming album. It follows previously released tracks ‘The Funeral’ and ‘Memories’, which features singer Willow.
Catch unstoppable YUNGBLUD live this fall, as he hits several festivals, including Riot Fest in Chicago, Louder Than Life in Louisville, Kentucky, Firefly in Dover, Delaware, and Austin City Limits in Austin.
