The new teaser is (again!) a 30-second clip with three black blobs falling across the screen to some dramatic sounds. And even though the clip itself doesn’t tell us much, this third video finishes with a sort of a picture of black drops on the red background, which looks like a possible artwork for the band’s new album.
All these recent hints put together, fans tend to believe AFI are teasing their upcoming full-length. Davey Havok and Co. released album Burials on October 22, 2013, and we haven’t heard new material from the group since then. But this past summer, guitarist Jade Puget started talking about new music and shared in one interview that “they were “working on AFI,” leaving details unrevealed.
AFI fans also inked a deal with Republic Records for the release of their next album. “We are thrilled to be joining the Republic family for the release of our ninth record,” said frontman Davey Havok on signing to the label. “We’ve spent over two years realizing this album and could not be more excited to share it with all.”
