The punk band has finally reunited with Tom DeLonge for the new album and tour
Blink-182 made their fans’ day today by confirming they’re finally reuniting with vocalist/guitarist Tom DeLonge. The long-awaited new music from the original lineup can be heard as soon as this Friday. Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker and Tom DeLonge are sharing their new track ‘Edging’ on October 14.
The blink-182 guys didn’t stop at that. They’ve announced that the band’s new album with DeLonge is in the making. The band’s previous record in the original lineup, Neighborhoods, was released 11 years ago. Then, four years later, in 2015, DeLonge parted ways with blink-182, and Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba joined the group, resulting in two albums, 2016’s California and 2019’s Nine.

The news of the original trio reuniting wasn’t a total surprise for blink-182 listeners. In September 2021, on Apple Music 1, DeLonge admitted that he had restored his longtime friendship with Hoppus, who was actively fighting cancer through chemotherapy at the time. Last November, DeLonge speculated on the possibility of the band’s reunion on The Late Late Show With James Corden.
“I feel like I’m always talking about some kind of reunion. I mean, we always talk about playing together again. And I think that that’s definitely something we’re all interested in,” he said.
In the meantime, before he rejoined blink-182, DeLonge pursued a lot of projects. He wrote music with Angels & Airwaves and devoted a lot of time to digging the topic of UFOs and conspiracy theories. The musician even founded his own company To the Stars Academy of Arts & Sciences in 2015 and produced the History Channel series Unidentified: Inside America’s UFO Investigation.
Blink-182 are prepping to release a new album next year, according to the press release. But most importantly, the band is gearing up for a massive not-to-be-missed global tour, which will cover South and North Americas, Europe, Australia and New Zealand. Tickets go on sale October 17 at 10AM local time at this location.
