The band’s 9th album and a new tour are just around the corner
Finnish rock staples Uniklubi have released their new single “Kävelen pois” (“Walking Away”) via Nordic Music Partners, which was co-written by Aleksi and Niko of Eurovision icons Blind Channel.
The band has also unveiled a music video for the single, giving us a taste of their forthcoming ninth studio album Encore. The visuals for “Kävelen pois”, directed by Antti Väre, feature the footage captured at the band’s Helsinki Superterassi show this past July, giving the release true live energy.

Among “Kävelen pois” writers we find two members of recently reunited Eurovision stars Blind Channel – vocalist Niko Moilanen and DJ/percussionist Aleksi Kaunisvesi. This creative collab is definitely unveiling a new chapter in Uniklubi’s life, as well as adding to Blind Channel’s extensive co-writing portfolio. Uniklubi’s upcoming album is set to arrive on September 4 via Playground Music, available both on CD and digitally.
Encore follows the band’s eighth studio album 8, released in March 2023 — an introspective record written and produced entirely within the band’s own circle, with production handled by long-time collaborator Rake Eskolin. While Uniklubi’s previous record had focused on rather polished, keyboard-layered rock, Encore marks a major shift in the writing approach, with the Blind Channel members already taking Jussi Selo & co. beyond their comfort zone, both vocally and melodically.
With the album release just around the corner, Uniklubi are also heading out on a tour in their homeland stretching from September all the way through December, with stops across the country from Inari in the north to Vaasa in the west and Helsinki in the south.
