The song is taken from the band’s sophomore album, Blacklist

Ohio young rock talents Dangerkids dropped their long-awaited second album, blacklist_, last Friday, and today they’ve teamed with Billboard.com to launch their new music video for the new single, ‘Kill Everything.’

The song’s energy is doubled with the help of this energetic tense video, which you can watch below. ‘Kill Everything’ is an extremely engaging track: it sounds like the hybrid of nu-metal-era Linkin Park and electronicore outfit from Sweden, Dead By April.

Dangerkids’ rap-singer Tyler Smyth told Billboard that blacklist_ let them find their sound again, because in the whirlwind of recording their debut effort and touring the band had nearly forgotten to focus on themselves and what music they really wanted to make:
“When we initially got signed, it became a race to complete the album —‘We need more songs! More songs!’ — and a race to get out on the road: ‘Tour! Tour!’ By the end of the first album cycle, we had given so much time and energy into pleasing the industry around us that we forgot to ask ourselves how we want to sound or how we’d like to be perceived. Working on blacklist_ became an opportunity for us to grow as a unit and fight to regain that same creative control that we had when we were just a band in a basement.”
Lyrically, blacklist_ picks up where Collapse ended, revolving around the “idea of you being your own worst enemy or your own demon,” Smyth adds. “blacklist_ goes in the face of all the outward forces that stand in your way.”

Soundwise, Dangerkids describe the new album as less heavy yet “loads moodier”, “a little darker and a little more sincere.” If you haven’t heard the record yet, you have a chance to stream all the tracks at this location, as well as on Spotify and Apple Music.
