While it’s a lot to embrace for Linkin Park fans, band say they “feel really empowered with this new lineup”

The endless speculations and doubts on whether Linkin Park were planning to return are over. All the rumours and wondering since Chester Bennington’s passing in 2017: will the band hire a new vocalist, will they only keep Mike Shinoda on vocals or is it the end of LP – have stopped today. Following 100-hour countdowns, Linkin Park have shown their two new members, vocalist Emily Armstrong of Dead Sara and drummer Colin Brittain (G Flip, ONE OK ROCK).

Along with that new lineup announcement comes the breaking news of Linkin Park’s first album since 2017, titled From Zero. The highly anticipated record is set to arrive November 15 via Warner Records. As a taste of the new album, LP have just shared their fresh single ‘The Emptiness Machine’, which you can listen to below.

Not enough? Here comes more. The band is going on a leg of shows this September and November, prior to the release of From Zero. Introducing the new lineup members, frontman Mike Shinoda says he’s confident Linkin Park will keep on making music with the “sonic touchpoints” they’re so loved for:

“The more we worked with Emily and Colin, the more we enjoyed their world-class talents, their company, and the things we created. We feel really empowered with this new lineup and the vibrant and energized new music we’ve made together. We’re weaving together the sonic touchpoints we’ve been known for and still exploring new ones.”

He goes on to say From Zero is centered around the new beginning and the upcoming adventurous journey ahead. “Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future — embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life”, he says. “It was made with a deep appreciation for our new and longtime bandmates, our friends, our family, and our fans.”
