Asking Alexandria started “the new year off with a bang!”
Not long after the launch of their seventh album, What’s On The Inside (2021), British rock act Asking Alexandria dropped the Never Gonna Learn EP. The record features two new songs, one of which is a collaboration with “rock goddess” Maria Brink of In This Moment. The two powerhouses united for an in-your-face track, titled ‘New Devil’.
Apart from new song ‘Miles Away’ and Maria Brink-featuring track ‘New Devil’, the EP includes two songs from the last record — ‘Never Gonna Learn’ and ‘Find Myself’. The guys from Asking Alexandria say they wanted to “kick the new year off with a bang!”:
“2021 was another strange year for everyone, so we wanted to do something special for our fans and kick the new year off with a bang! We are super excited to release the Never Gonna Learn EP,” says Ben Bruce, the band’s guitarist.
“Instead of just releasing our new single we wanted to give you all something a little extra so we have included two brand new songs on this single EP, one of which we hold near and dear to our hearts, and another that we collaborated with our good friend Maria Brink of In This Moment,” Bruce adds.

The singer of In This Moment also took her turn to thank the guys for the fruitful collaboration and called Asking Alexandria “incredibly talented“:
“We’ve known Asking Alexandria for years and it’s nice to finally collaborate together,” Brink added. “They are incredibly talented and joining forces with them was a lot of fun. I can’t wait for everyone to hear the song and I’m grateful to be a part of it.”
Fans have another reason to be thrilled. Asking Alexandria are planning to embark on a tour, the details of which will soon be revealed. This will mark the band’s first U.S. headline tour since 2018.
Last year, despite COVID-19 situation not being easy, Asking Alexandria managed to complete a pretty lengthy European tour, following two inactive pandemic-clouded years.
“After taking 20-some months off we learned a lot about ourselves and what we want out of life. Jumping right into a tour as long as this one, I think we closed in on that even more. We felt a lot more in tune with each other and what we’re working towards than ever before. And we really set a new standard for ourselves,” vocalist Danny Worsnop assured fans.
Many fans found the band’s 2021 album What’s On The Inside far from typical AA, not metalcore at all. At the same time, the record showcased Worsnop’s voice at its best and gave nu-metal lovers that nostalgic 2000′ vibe. What did you think of the album and the new track ‘New Devil’? Which AA era is your thing?
