August 7, 2017

Papa Roach, unfortunately, had no choice but to cancel their August tour dates: their frontman Jacoby Shaddix had been advised to undergo a vocal surgery.

Doctors convinced Shaddix to have an immediate surgery on his vocal cord, so that his vocal muscles have enough time to heal before the band goes back on tour for many more dates.

Papa Roach only had a view dates scheduled for August. Among them was a headlining set at the Moonstock Festival in Carterville, Ill. on Aug. 19. The other cancelled dates are Aug at the Douglas County Fair in Roseburg, Ore., and Aug 25 at the Alaska State Fair in Palmer, Alaska.

The good news is that the diagnosis was made early and the singer should recovery fully. In his Facebook greeting with a photo of himself in a hospital bed, Shaddix has thanked his army of fans with their support and wishes of recovery:

“Just want to say thanks for all the kind words and well wishes from all my friends, family and fans. It means a lot. I will recover. I will sing again. Until then I just want to send my love and gratitude to you all.”
