No Devotion’s singer Geoff Rickly took to his Instagram yesterday to announce that he was “poisoned and robbed” just outside the venue where the band played last Friday. The incident occurred just outside the Reeperbahn Festival in Hamburg, Germany. Rickly said he spent the night in the hospital because of this. No Devotion then had to cancel their performance, but as Loudwire writes, Rickly obviously recovered from the incident to go play in Paris this past weekend.  No Devotion are now finishing their U.K. leg of shows, with North American gigs to start in October.

Here is how he addressed the band’s fans on Instagram:

Just a little note to say that I was poisoned & robbed (outside our @reeperbahn_festival venue on Friday) and spent the night in the hospital in Hamburg. I’m recovering and will be in Paris tonight. ❤ Sorry to anyone that was at our show for the cancellation. The outpouring of love & support for @collectrecords @nodevotionband & @normanbrannon @shaundurkan is nothing short of remarkable.❤ xoxo
