March 14, 2016

You are probably wondering what on earth has not been done yet when one shoots a video about superheros and throws Batman versus Superman. Well, this new video from Coheed and Cambria for the track ‘Island’ will not leave you indifferent, even if you aren’t a fan of superhero theme at all.

In the video, you will see a street performer dressed as Batman walk down the streets, trying to catch attention of every passer-by. He is so devoted to his role of Batman that even when he comes home, he doesn’t get changed and continues living the life of his personage.

One day, a young man in the street gives Batman 20 bucks to see what a battle ‘Batman vs. Superman’ would look like, and two superhero street performers get down to the battle. What you cannot predict though, is how the acquaintance of the two street superheroes finishes. Watch the new Coheed and Cambria’s video below.

“When I think of these two iconic characters, I think of opposite attraction,” explains frontman Claudio Sanchez. “I think of myself and my wife. How two opposite ends of a spectrum can create harmony and balance. In one way or another, these characters have been paired up with like-minded love interests, the Bat and the Cat… The Alien and the Amazonian… I wanted to bring the Dark and the Light together.”

Track ‘Island’ is taken from Coheed and Cambria’s album The Color Before the Sun, released last October. ‘Island’ follows other tracks released from the record: ‘Eraser,’ ‘Here to Mars’ and ‘You Got Spirit, Kid.’ At the moment, the band is touring with Glassjaw, I the Mighty and Silver Snakes with the dates booked through the end of March.
