AFI took the song title literally: you’ll see them dressed in white against a blinding white background
December 8, 2016
AFI have premiered a new video for the single ‘White Offerings’ from their upcoming tenth release AFI (The Blood Album). ‘White Offerings’ is a performance video, made in the band’s best traditions: stylish and tasteful yet hyperactive and aggressive at times. By its power it brings about “old-school” AFI clips such as ‘The Leaving Song Pt. II’, only with less jumping around. Watch the video below.
Listen: AFI share two Songs, ‘Snow Cats’ and ‘White Offerings’
The video was premiered via Rolling Stone. ‘White Offerings’, along with ‘Snow Cats’ and the most recent single ‘Aurelia’ can be found on the band’s new album, which is due for release January 20. Answering how the album title AFI (The Blood Album) came to be, Jade Puget says:
”Originally, we wanted just have it self-titled because it’s been 10 records and AFI has never had a self-titled record. But because the album artwork has these three blood drops on the front, we just started calling it The Blood Album. So people started thinking it was the actual title, and because we didn’t want to confuse anyone, we made it official.”
