Olly Alexander of Years & Years represented United Kingdom at Eurovision Song Contest 2024 with a dancy pop song ‘Dizzy’. Being one of “Big Five” countries, financially backing the contest every year, Olly didn’t have to fight for a spot in the Grand Final.

It won’t be an exaggeration to say UK’s staging was a bit too daring and in-your-face for the kid-friendly TV show, which could have affected the amount of points allocated to UK by public voters all over Europe. ‘Dizzy’ ended up landing 18th of 25 competing countries in the Grand Final.

Eurovision 2024 took place in Malmö, Sweden, following Loreen’s second victory in the contest in 2023 with the song ‘Tattoo’.
