The masterminds behind ‘Little Angel’ are back and ready to rock their loyal fans’ world

If your teenage or twenties were all about gothic metal, like Finnish icons HIM and Nightwish, you couldn’t have missed out on one of the biggest names in 2000’s dark metal scene, Charon. This melodic band had conquered the hearts of thousands in the Nordics and beyond thanks to the deep voice of their frontman Juha-Pekka Leppäluoto (JP Leppäluoto). Since they disbanded in 2011, JP had explored various projects, including his solo music path and still active bands Harmaja and Northern Kings.

Little did we know when this summer Charon suddenly announced a comeback tour. And they didn’t stop there: soon afterwards JP and the band released their first single since the reunion, ’Fall of Angels.’ The band’s comeback tour, which kicked off in Tampere’s Olympia hall on August 29, is also titled The Fall of Angels – Reunion Tour 2025. The live set list features Charon’s greatest hits, such as ‘Little Angel’, ‘Worthless’ and ‘Bitter Joy’ and a few rarely performed tracks. The crowds on tour also have a chance to hear the new track, ’Fall of Angels,’ live for the first time.

Introducing the new track, the band describes ’Fall of Angels’ as a melting pot of both today’s Charon sound and the deep raw melodies, characteristic of Charon in early 2000s.

”The discussions about releasing a new Charon track began internally even before the announcement of the Fall of Angels tour in early 2025. We wanted to bring fresh music to the table with this lineup—not only as part of the tour setlist, but also to support upcoming shows and reconnect with our audience in a meaningful way. The new track is a rich fusion of modern-day Charon and the melodic, emotional depth that defined our music in the early 2000s—both in its sound and its lyrics,” the band says.

“It showcases Charon at the peak of its identity, embodying the unmistakable qualities that originally defined the band during its acclaimed recording and touring era—bold, uncompromising rock elements, infectious guitar riffs, and the distinctive vocal presence of JP Leppäluoto, whose interpretative style remains unrivaled.”
