Adam Gontier (ex-THREE DAYS GRACE), STAIND guitarist Mike Mushok, former Finger Eleven drummer Rich Beddoe and bassist Corey Lowery create the band SAINT ASONIA, debut their single, ‘Better Place’, and promise debut album this summer

When a true musician suddenly leaves his long-time band, he simply cannot live without the joy of sharing his songs with the whole world. Now that Canadian rockers Three Days Grace are successfully touring with their new album, Human, the band’s former singer Adam Gontier, who left the band in December 2012, has joined forces with Staind guitarist Mike Mushok, former Finger Eleven drummer Rich Beddoe and bassist Corey Lowery to start a new group, Saint Asonia. Last Friday the newborn band released their debut single, ‘Better Place’, which you can stream below.
The band is now in the studio working on their first debut album as Saint Asonia, which is tentatively due this summer – the guys revealed on Idaho radio station The X Rocks. In the course of the interview with the singer Adam Gontier and guitarist Mike Mushok, the musicians also spoke about the music direction on the upcoming record. “I’m super proud of the way the record came out,” says Staind guitarist Mike Mushok. “I think it definitely exceeded what we were trying to accomplish; we definitely did it. I mean, the record kind of runs the gamut — there’s some pretty heavy stuff, and there’s a couple of songs on there that are just beautiful songs” (via Blabbermouth).
The newly formed band refuses to accept the tag “supergroup”, regarding its pretty outstanding line-up. “Truth is we’re more like refugees that just really hit it off creatively,” Adam Gontier laughs it off. However, with the help of famous producer Johnny K working on the new album (Disturbed, Megadeth, Staind albums’ producer), it seems like we are certainly in for something powerful and in-your-face.
