The band didn’t reunite for nothing – their new track ‘Born Cold’ and its video totally change our perception of Creeper’s world
Creeper broke up just last year and reunited a couple of weeks ago, calling themselves the Fugitives Of Heaven. And what a song to start reunion with! Earlier this month Creeper got back on stage, calling themselves the Fugitives Of Heaven, and premiered the song ‘Born Cold’ at Club 229 in London. Fans wanted more. And they got it. Here comes the track’s enchanting video for ‘Born Cold’!
In many ways, from sharp low-pitched verse lines to the intense chorus, the band seems to navigate to emo rock now, reminding that of My Chemical Romance both in the sound and video color theme. They also bring to mind the sound of the Finnish band Disco Ensemble and their good old ‘Bad Luck Charm’.
It was Radio 1’s Rock Show with Daniel P Carter which unveiled ‘Born Cold’ on November 3. The radio host loved the song and even played it three times during the Sunday’s episode. Overwhelmed with the fan’s support, the band wrote on social media: “Feels good to be home”, referring to their reunion.
“Absolutely overwhelmed at that third play in a row on @Radio1RockShow and all of these incredible tweets. Black heart and lightnight [sic] bolt emojis for every single one of you especially @DanielPCarter. Feels good to be home”
Interestingly, introducing ‘Born Cold’ video on social media, Will Gould & Co. also wrote a dark message (which might be reflecting the next album’s theme): “But the cowardly, the unbelieving, the vile, the murderers, the sexually immoral, those who practice magic arts, the idolaters and all liars – they will be consigned to the fiery lake of burning sulfur. This is the second death. This is Born Cold.”
We’ll remind that Creeper announced they were dismembering in 2018, after just four years on stage. However, the series of “paranormal”, cryptic posts on social media in September made fans understand that the reunion was on the way. And with quite some certainty we can say the new album is on the way as well. In one of the latest posts, Creeper wrote: “Welcome to the world of our new record this is Born Cold”.

Creeper “Born Cold” lyrics:
I was born cold, so much colder than you
A transparent brute
A black heart you see right through
You’re all spirit, all auburn and morning
I’m the smoker’s health
The hang man hangs himself
Do I look so good that you wanna treat me bad?
We sleep together me and you because we’ve nothing else to do
Midnight and back in luck on the hood of your father’s truck
Fall fast and feel the devil at the wheel
Do I look so good that you wanna treat me bad?
We sleep together me and you because we’ve nothing else to do.
Do I look so good that you wanna treat me bad?
We sleep together me and you because we’ve nothing else to do.
Try to feel, try to feel anything
Pretty boys, pretty girls, petty promise rings
Let’s die young and swoon
Let’s both be doomed together.
Try to feel, try to feel anything
Pretty boys, pretty girls, petty promise rings
Let’s die young and swoon
Let’s both be doomed together.
Try to feel, try to feel anything
Pretty boys, pretty girls, petty promise rings
Let’s die young and swoon
Let’s both be doomed together.
Do I look so good that you wanna treat me bad?
We sleep together me and you because we’ve nothing else to do.
Do I look so good that you wanna treat me bad?
We sleep together me and you because we’ve nothing else to do.
