We called Cyan Kicks who are competing in this year’s national selection for Eurovision
The world’s most rock-music-fertile country, Finland has pre-selected not one but three rock acts to fight for the right to go to Eurovision in Turin.
Of the seven finalists of Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu 2022 (New Music Contest 2022) three are on the heavier side: Cyan Kicks, The Rasmus and Tommi Läntinen. AlteRock has called Susanna (vocals) and Niila (guitarist) of the up-and-coming Helsinki-based act Cyan Kicks to talk about their contest song ‘Hurricane’ and their path to UMK.
The frontwoman and the guitarist of the band also had to go through our round of Tricky Questions, where they were bombarded with such puzzlers as:
- What’s the first concert you saw as a child?
- What song describes your personality and the way you see the world best?
- What’s the best Eurovision song of all times? and many more.
Watch the interview with Cyan Kicks below:
UMK finals will take place in a month from now, on February 26 in Turku, Finland. If you’ve missed out on Cyan Kick’s song ‘Hurricane’, be sure to check it out below:
