ISLANDER have released their new single ‘Wake Up!’ just a few days after The Pope presented his album with the same name

American nu-metallers from Greenville, South Carolina, who have just returned from their tour with P.O.D., have released a new single with a loud name ‘Wake Up! (listen below)’, just a few days after Pope Francis “spread his message of hope, faith and unity” with a new rock LP, titled ‘Wake Up!’ as well!
Here is what Islander’s frontman Mikey Carvajal told AP about this funny coincidence: “I woke up yesterday morning and saw that the pope was dropping an album called Wake Up! The irony of it is that we recorded a song of our own called ‘Wake Up!’ a month ago. We didn’t intend on releasing it today—as we are in the middle of promoting our radio single ‘Cold Speak,’ which is at #29 right now on the charts. But the pope has really left us with no choice”.
The band also has to ‘wake up’ soon in order to get ready for their upcoming show dates on Korn’s 20th anniversary tour, accompanied by Suicide Silence (check out the dates below).
