As Spotify service is celebrating its 15th anniversary this month, it shares some interesting music data for various countries. In Finland, the country with most rock and metal musicians per capita, Nightwish turned out to be the most streamed Finnish artist of all time. Like good wine, Finland’s leading power metal band gets more appreciated as time goes by.

The list of Suomi’s most streamed artists of all time, both local and global, shows Finns’ tastes are heavily rap-dominated. You’ll also find local rappers’ duo JVG, another Finnish ex-rapper Cheek and the one and only Eminem in the top 3.

In recent years, Finnish hip hop has become super popular and it’s interesting to see how and in which direction the Finnish music scene and tastes are moving. Finland is full of amazingly talented artists and music makers from all different genres, so there will definitely be a lot of freebies and new names on the top charts in the future

When it comes to the world’s taste in Finnish music, Spotify’s most streamed Finnish song of all time is Darude’s ‘Sandstrom’. And as for the most listened rock track from the Nordic country, the nod goes to the iconic ‘In the Shadows’ by The Rasmus.
