This year seems to be rich in marriages. First, on January 5, we witnessed Benji Madden of Good Charlotte marry Cameron Diaz, then Bring Me the Horizon main man Oli Sykes got married to his girlfriend Hannah Pixie Snowdon, and now there is another celebration taking place – Sum 41 frontman Deryck Whibley has married model Ariana Cooper. This is Whibley’s second marriage, the first one being to pop-punk star Avril Lavigne, which lasted from 2006 to 2010.
The singer’s long-time girlfriend is the one who has been helping him a lot in his recovery from alcoholism. In fact, Sum 41 frontman wasn’t far from death after collapsing in his living room due to severe organ failure.
The wedding ceremony was held at the Hotel Bel Air in Los Angeles, California, according to E! News. And it definitely wasn’t a trivial reception, starting with welcoming the guests into the hall with Metallica’s ‘Enter Sandman’ and finishing with serving donuts as a midnight snack. But there was of course a classical romantic side to it as well, as the couple’s first dance choice was Frank Sinatra’s ‘Cheek To Cheek.’
